Conheci Dero quando o writer veio pintar à Margem Sul, num spot que lhe indiquei.

Desde então, já nos cruzámos mais algumas vezes, em jams ou quando tenho oportunidade de o ir ver a pintar.

No graffiti desde os 15 anos, o writer tem vindo a desenvolver outros projetos pessoais, ao nível da ilustração e trabalhos comissionados.

Enquanto aguardamos por novidades, fiquem com a sua entrevista.

Qual é o significado do teu tag?

O meu tag não tem um significado específico, resultou da junção das letras que mais gostava e que desenhava melhor naquela altura.

Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?

O meu primeiro contacto com o graffiti foi através de malta que fazia graff na minha zona, principalmente malta dos CPK.

Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?

Quando comecei em 2009 o movimento estava incrível, tinhas crews muito pesadas e via-se muito graffiti a girar nos comboios.

Posso dizer-te que muitas das peças feitas nesses anos eram mais consistentes do que as que vejo hoje em dia.

Havia muitos fames de qualidade e muitos bombers. Muita malta a pintar muito e com muita qualidade.

Quais são as tuas crews?

A minha crew é CHKS (Chakales).

O que te mantém forte na tua ligação ao movimento?

A minha vontade de continuar, sem dúvida.

O que puxa por ti hoje em dia? Wall of fame, street bombing ou train bombing?

O que puxa por mim é pintar, seja em que superfície for.

Numa palavra, como defines o teu estilo?

Complexo.

Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos?

Pá, isso é uma pergunta difícil. Eu costumo dizer que sou do mundo... mas se tivesse de escolher uma ou duas cidades, diria Lisboa e Paris.

Quais são os ingredientes para um bom dia de pinturas?

Bom spot, boa tinta e bom ambiente.

Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?

Geralmente, desenho muito nos meus tempos livres. Por vezes, quando vou pintar, levo um sketch para usar certas referências do mesmo.

Qual é o melhor parceiro de pinturas?

ESMAE.

O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?

Depende muito. Quando estou a pintar um fame, gosto geralmente de estar de fones e muitas vezes a ouvir música eletrónica .

Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal? O que pode melhorar?

Actualmente, posso dizer que o graffiti em Portugal é bom. Há graff de qualidade, há muitos estilos e writers muito bons.

Para melhorar, não sei... acho que a evolução tem sido lenta mas boa.

Qual é o teu top 3 de writers portugueses?

Os três writers de que sinto mais os estilos e que me influenciam de alguma forma posso dizer que são MISTER SHON SORE.

E de writers estrangeiros?

KAIZR CEKIOS SOFLES.

Com que writers gostarias de fazer uma peça conjunta?

Kaizr, sem dúvida.

Qual é aquela peça que te falta fazer (pelo seu tamanho, local, complexidade …)?

Faltam muitas.

Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?

O meu plano é continuar a pintar, ser feliz a fazer o que gosto e tentar trazer frescura e qualidade!

Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?

A primeira vez que pintei um train fora do meu país tive de escavar um buraco por baixo da vedação, para passar. Enquanto estou a escavar, bato numa pedra gigante, tiro a pedra e já dava para passarmos.

Pintei coberto de lama, mas pintei. Foi uma missão muito boa e, no final, saímos dali a correr e a rir ao mesmo tempo, com toda a adrenalina e felicidade de termos conseguido o primeiro fora de casa... e sem ajudas!!

I met Dero when the writer came to paint at Margem Sul, in a spot I recommended to him.

Since then, we've crossed paths a few more times, at jams or when I have the opportunity to see him painting.

In graffiti since he was 15 years old, the writer has been developing other personal projects, in terms of illustration and commissioned work.

What does your tag mean?

My tag does not have a specific meaning, it resulted from the combination of the letters that I liked the most and that I drew best at that time.

When did your interest in graffiti begin and what were your influences at the time?

My first contact with graffiti was through people who were doing graffiti in my area, mainly CPK guys.

What was the graffiti scene like when you started?

When I started in 2009 the movement was incredible, you had very heavy crews and you saw a lot of graffiti flying around on the trains.

I can tell you that many of the pieces made in those years were more consistent than what I see today.

There were a lot of quality fames and a lot of bombers. Lots of people painting a lot and with great quality.

What are your crews?

My crew is CHKS (Chakales).

What keeps you strong in your connection to the movement?

My desire to continue, without a doubt.

What drives you these days? Wall of fame, street bombing or train bombing?

What drives me is painting, whatever surface it is.

In a word, how do you define your style?

Complex.

What are your favorite spots/cities?

Man, that's a difficult question. I usually say that I'm from the world... but if I had to choose one or two cities, I would say Lisbon and Paris.

What are the ingredients for a good painting day?

Good spot, good paint and good atmosphere.

Do you paint with sketch or freestyle?

Generally, I draw a lot in my free time. Sometimes, when I go to paint, I take a sketch to use certain references from it.

Who is the best painting partner? ESMAE. What plays on your playlist when you paint? It depends largely. When I'm painting a fame, I generally like to have headphones on and often listen to electronic music. How would you describe the current graffiti scene in Portugal? What can improve? Currently, I can say that graffiti in Portugal is good. There is quality graffiti, there are many styles and very good writers. To improve, I don't know... I think the evolution has been slow but good. What is your top 3 Portuguese writers? The three writers whose styles I feel the most and who influence me in some way I can say are MISTER SHON SORE. And foreign writers? KAIZR CEKIOS SOFLES. Which writers would you like to do a joint piece with? Kaizr, without a doubt. What is that piece you still need to make (due to its size, location, complexity…)? There are many missing. What are your future plans/projects? My plan is to continue painting, be happy doing what I like and try to bring freshness and quality! Do you have a story you want to share? The first time I painted a train outside my country I had to dig a hole under the fence to get through. While I'm digging, I hit a giant rock, I remove the stone and we're ready to pass. I painted covered in mud, but I painted. It was a very good mission and, in the end, we left running and laughing at the same time, with all the adrenaline and happiness of having achieved the first one away from home... and without help!!
