PT ARISCA é uma artista multidisciplinar dedicada à pintura mural e à ilustração.
Natural do Porto, estudou na FBAUP e, até se dedicar à pintura em pleno (em 2021), trabalhou como freelancer, numa loja de estofagem e como fotógrafa de moda.
A sua obra é inspirada nas interações e conexões sociais, bem como no corpo humano e nas experiências viscerais e vulneráveis.
Para ARISCA o espaço público é de toda a gente e a Arte Urbana é uma maneira divertida e criativa de comunicar.
Depois de trabalhar e experimentar diversas técnicas e meios sente-se hoje confortável tanto com pequenas telas como com grandes painéis e paredes.
Há uns fins de semana, conheci-a na Jam "Juntas Hacemos Mas", a convite de Moami. Foi daí que resultou esta entrevista.
Antes de mais, fala-nos um pouco sobre ti.
Olá, sou a Arisca. Sou artista, venho do Porto e estou por cá neste momento. Faço pintura mural, gosto de fazer street art há já uns anos e não tenho vergonha de ir experimentando e criando. Praticar é importante e inevitável. Gosto de aprender e partilhar conhecimentos. Quero é pintar e criar e de o fazer com quem também aprecia isto, de uma forma ou de outra!
Tens formação em Arte?
Tive a sorte de poder fazer multimédia nas Belas Artes, se bem que o que mais definiu aquilo que faço foi o que fiz fora daí.
O que preferes? O atelier / estúdio ou a rua?
Rua, natureza e variados exteriores e interiores.
Quando começou o teu interesse pela Arte Urbana e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
Comecei a experimentar em 2014. Se bem que uma vez no secundário (portanto, algures entre 2008 e 2011) pintei todas as portas das casas de banho das raparigas de cima a baixo com umas imagens de teor sexual explícito (deve ter sido o meu primeiro freestyle) e confesso que isso aguçou muito o apetite por explorar limites. Cuidadinho com as meninas tímidas!
O facto de sempre ver e apreciar os mais variados graffitis e pinturas desde pequenita (de uma forma mesmo leiga e inocente, entenda-se), misturado com o facto incontornável de que sempre gostei de desenhar e pintar, deixaram a sementinha bem plantada.
Como descreves o panorama atual da Arte Urbana em Portugal?
Em geral e como tudo, a arte urbana é feita de fases. E perspectivas. Atualmente e não só, acho que há espaço para toda a gente e o que importa é que se continue a pintar.
Qual é o teu top 3 de artistas / writers portugueses?
E de artistas / writers estrangeiros?
Com que artista / writer gostarias de fazer uma peça conjunta?
Ai que pergunta marota. Adorava pintar ao lado de muuuita gente! Desde que seja recíproco e divertido para todas as pessoas envolvidas.
Já marcaste presença em alguns Festivais de Arte Urbana. Qual foi aquele em que tiveste mais gosto em participar?
Gosto de participar em todos, que uma pessoa vai lá é para pintar e passar um bom momento!
Que diferenças encontras entre a Arte Urbana portuense e a do resto do país?
Outra pergunta marota? Vejo mais semelhanças do que diferenças.
Como é o teu processo criativo e onde vais buscar as inspirações para as tuas peças?
As minhas inspirações vão desde as pequenas coisas mágicas e pequeninas do dia a dia, afectos, emoções, intenções, diversas actividades e acções, coisas que vão acontecer; coisas que me façam pensar; gosto muito de arte antiga mais ali para os Orientes; fascino-me muito por coisas místicas e simbólicas como o tarot e a astrologia; e, às vezes, também me inspiro no que ando a ler e nas músicas que ouço.
O processo criativo começa sempre no sketchbook. Às vezes vou directa à ideia, outras vezes ando com ela às voltas e faço experiências e também gosto muito de fazer brainstormings e saladinhas de ideias. Ando muitas vezes com um caderno pequeno na carteira, que as ideias giras surgem quando uma pessoa não está à espera (e é sempre quando o caderno também não está à mão, claro).
Gostas de provocar com a tua arte “erótica” que espalhas pelas ruas em paste ups?
Claro. E com as restantes! Sinceramente acho que a arte urbana e o graffiti em geral são uma provocação em si, quanto mais não seja pelo seu poder de questionar o conceito de propriedade pública ou privada quando feitos ilegalmente. E pelo restante poder de questionar uma infinidade de outras coisas.
Com jeitinho, esses conceitos das propriedades estão também correlacionadas com a nossa ideia de família e Estado (como é feita a divisão da propriedade e a quem pertence, como passam de umas pessoas para outras), o que influencia a forma como nos relacionamos uns com os outros e, por conseguinte, os nossos laços afectivos, íntimos e sexuais que decidimos criar.
Voltando à arte urbana e à arte erótica, gosto de brincar um pouco com isso e de fazer essas tais provocações, pois também é uma maneira de fazer as pessoas pensarem. Há ainda um grande desconhecimento e tabu em torno da sexualidade. Já conseguimos grandes evoluções na educação ao longo dos últimos anos, mas ainda há muito por entender e assimilar relativamente à nossa saúde e natureza sexuais. Investir na educação sexual é fulcral! Liberta toda a gente, porque é através do conhecimento que somos livres. É um assunto que merece atenção e compreensão, porque a vergonha alimenta-se do secretismo, e somos seres demasiado inteligentes para termos vergonha de algo natural e que faz parte da nossa vida. Como é que acham que estamos todos aqui?
Com que material preferes trabalhar?
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Normalmente sketch. Mas às vezes é preciso improvisar e desenrascar.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
Se estiver a pintar sozinha e num lugar tranquilo, quase tudo!! Desde bossa nova, funk proibidão, drum and bass, hip hop, playlists de bollywood, clássicos tugas e internacionais, sambas, reggae, blues, salsa e cumbias, eletrónicas e outras danças que tais, pop também vai, rock e metal é mais raro mas também está na lista. Música clássica claro que vai de vez em quando. É uma valente aventura sonora, gosto imenso de descobrir novos sabores musicais, especialmente com bons ritmos para dar ao pincel! Ou à lata ou ao rolo, o que for. Mas também gosto imenso de ouvir podcasts, especialmente de filosofia e psicologia.
Qual foi o spot mais incrível em que já pintaste?
Já tive a sorte de pintar em lugarzinhos muito bonitos, cheirosos, potentes e iluminados, mas sei que a resposta a esta pergunta está no futuro.
Qual é a tua melhor peça?

Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Não fazer planos, sei que quero muito crescer e evoluir e há muitas maneiras de o fazer através das paredes e dos espaços. Estou recetiva a ideias e propostas, sempre com a mente e coração abertos.
Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?
Esta vai em versão curta. O único momento até agora em que tive situações com agentes da autoridade foi ao remover uma peça minha ilegal. Porque a vida é assim, engraçadinha.

ARISCA is a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to mural painting and illustration.
Born in Porto, she studied at FBAUP and, until she dedicated herself to painting fully (in 2021), she worked as a freelancer, in an upholstery store and as a fashion photographer.
Her work is inspired by social interactions and connections, as well as the human body and visceral and vulnerable experiences.
For ARISCA, public space belongs to everyone and Urban Art is a fun and creative way to communicate.

A few weekends ago, I met her at the Jam "Juntas Hacemos Mas", at Moami's invitation. That's where this interview came from.
First of all, tell us a little about yourself. Hello, I'm Arisca. I'm an artist, I come from Porto and I'm here at the moment. I do mural painting, I've enjoyed doing street art for a few years now and I'm not ashamed to experiment and create. Practicing is important and inevitable. I like learning and sharing knowledge. I want to paint and create and do it with those who also appreciate this, in one way or another! Do you have a degree in Art? I was lucky to be able to do multimedia in Fine Arts, although what most defined what I do was what I did outside of there. What do you prefer? The atelier/studio or the street? Street, nature and varied exteriors and interiors. When did your interest in Urban Art begin and what were your influences at the time?
I started experimenting in 2014. Although once in high school (so somewhere between 2008 and 2011) I painted all the girls' bathroom doors from top to bottom with sexually explicit images (it must have been my first freestyle) and I confess that this greatly whetted my appetite for exploring limits. Be careful with shy girls! The fact that I always saw and appreciated the most varied graffiti and paintings since I was little (in a really layman and innocent way, understand), mixed with the unavoidable fact that I always liked drawing and painting, left the seed well planted.
How do you describe the current panorama of Urban Art in Portugal? In general and like everything, urban art is made up of phases. And perspectives. Nowadays and beyond, I think there is room for everyone and what matters is that we continue to paint. What is your top 3 Portuguese artists/writers? Mafalda MG, C Marie and Pedro Podre. And foreign artists/writers? Lidia Cao, Mr Aryz and Taxis. Which artist/writer would you like to do a joint piece with?
Oh, what a naughty question. I loved painting alongside so many people! As long as it's reciprocal and fun for everyone involved.
You have already been present at some Urban Art Festivals. Which was the one you most enjoyed participating in? I like to participate in all of them, because a person goes there to paint and have a good time! What differences do you find between Urban Art in Porto and that of the rest of the country? Another naughty question? I see more similarities than differences. What is your creative process like and where do you get inspiration for your pieces?
My inspirations range from small, magical everyday things, affections, emotions, intentions, various activities and actions, things that will happen; things that make me think; I really like ancient art, more towards the East; I'm very fascinated by mystical and symbolic things like tarot and astrology; and sometimes I also get inspired by what I'm reading and the music I listen to.
The creative process always starts in the sketchbook. Sometimes I go straight to the idea, other times I walk around with it and experiment and I also really enjoy brainstorming and creating salads of ideas. I often carry a small notebook in my wallet, and cool ideas come to me when someone isn't expecting it (and it's always when the notebook isn't at hand either, of course).
Do you like to provoke with your “erotic” art that you spread on the streets in paste ups?
Sure. And with the rest! I honestly think that urban art and graffiti in general are a provocation in themselves, if only because of their power to question the concept of public or private property when done illegally. And for the remaining power to question an infinite number of other things.
Interestingly, these concepts of properties are also correlated with our idea of family and the State (how property is divided and who it belongs to, how it passes from one person to another), which influences the way we relate to each other. others and, consequently, our emotional, intimate and sexual bonds that we decide to create.
Going back to urban art and erotic art, I like to play with that a little and do these provocations, because it's also a way of making people think. There is still a great lack of knowledge and taboo surrounding sexuality. We have already made great strides in education over the last few years, but there is still a lot to understand and assimilate regarding our sexual health and nature. Investing in sexual education is crucial! It frees everyone, because it is through knowledge that we are free. It is a subject that deserves attention and understanding, because shame feeds on secrecy, and we are too intelligent beings to be ashamed of something natural and part of our lives. How do you think we're all here?
What material do you prefer to work with? Emulsion paint (or wall paint, go). But I also like spray paint and anything else that can be painted. Go with pens and everything. Wanting is power, and I want is to paint. Do you paint with sketch or freestyle? Usually sketch. But sometimes you have to improvise and get out of trouble. What plays on your playlist when you paint? If you are painting alone and in a quiet place, almost anything!! From bossa nova, funk proibidão, drum and bass, hip hop, bollywood playlists, Portuguese and international classics, sambas, reggae, blues, salsa and cumbias, electronic and other dances like that, pop also goes, rock and metal is rarer but it is also on the list. Classical music of course comes from time to time. It's a brave sonic adventure, I really enjoy discovering new musical flavors, especially with good rhythms to put to the brush! Either in a can or in a roll, whatever. But I also really enjoy listening to podcasts, especially philosophy and psychology. What was the most incredible spot you've ever painted?
I've been lucky enough to paint in very beautiful, fragrant, powerful and bright places, but I know that the answer to this question lies in the future. What is your best piece? The answer to this question is also in the future! What are your future plans/projects? Not making plans, I know I really want to grow and evolve and there are many ways to do that through walls and spaces. I am receptive to ideas and proposals, always with an open mind and heart. Do you have a story you want to share?
This is in a short version. The only time so far that I have had situations with law enforcement agents was when removing an illegal piece of mine. Because that's life, funny.
