EIKS é natural de Lisboa mas a sua presença é notória em Almada, cidade onde comecei a fotografar as suas peças.
Este membro dos SBF e dos FYA é fã do bombing e dos trains e elege Hern como melhor parceiro de pinturas e aventuras.
A pintar desde 1999, refere que as razões que o mantém ligado ao graff são os amigos e o prazer que tem em fazer missões.
Para quem está a começar no movimento o seu conselho é que respeitem quem já cá está há algum tempo, que pintem muito, com consciência, e que sejam verdadeiros ao que realmente significa o Graffiti (pintura ilegal e espalhar o nome o máximo possível).
Qual é o significado do teu tag?
O meu tag advém do meu tag anterior Eixo, que passou por Eix e estabilizou-se em Eiks ou Eiqs, conforme a pancada.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
Os meus primeiros tags com trincha foram de 99 a 01, ano em que comecei a usar latas dos chineses e de pintar cabelos para fazer as minhas primeiras peças. As minhas influências no começo eram os meus colegas de turma... nunca tinha reparado sequer em graffiti na rua. De seguida foi a Linha de Cascais a minha influência!
Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?
Quando comecei (em 2001) a cena era muito activa e com qualidade... a evolução era demorada para quem estava a começar (nada como hoje em dia com a internet e os programas de desenho). Eu morava na Parede (Linha de Cascais), zona que tinha muita gente a pintar constantemente e com muita qualidade... havia Jams em Oeiras em que se via a malta bastante unida pela Cultura, coisa que se foi perdendo aos poucos.
Latas, comprávamos Montana na Baixa numa loja da Levis por 1,75€, com os trocos que eram para o almoço. Em 2004 encontrámos (eu e minha crew GBK), numa tarde, um comboio Sintra Line parado à toa no tão famoso Backjump “Buraco”, enquanto pintávamos paredes na linha em Sete Rios, e aí o jogo mudou todo, eheh... quando fazíamos um comboio sabíamos que no dia ou dias seguintes eram horas e horas de espera nas estações de Sete Rios ou Benfica, para conseguirmos foto das peças com máquina fotográfica descartável de rolo, mas, no final, valia sempre a pena a espera! Bons tempos!!

Estações terminais e backjumps / Lisboa.

Como é o teu processo criativo e onde vais buscar as inspirações para as tuas peças?
Sinceramente, o meu processo criativo é quase feito de obriga. Se for Fame tento desenhar alguma coisa no dia anterior, se for Bombing / trains normalmente improviso ou repito um sketch.
Quais são os ingredientes para uma boa sessão de pinturas?
Missão controlada, entrar e sair sem espigas.
Preferes silver ou cores?
Cores.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Sketch só em Fame.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
Hiphop.
Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal? O que pode melhorar?
Como sou mais ligado ao Bombing / trains é mais a isso que tomo atenção.
Na rua penso que está um pouco fraco em comparação com outros tempos, fora 4 / 5 manos que estão aí sempre no batente.
Nos Trains há muito movimento e muita quantidade, mas, de momento, a qualidade está mediana, tirando os suspeitos do costume...
No Fame são os mesmos de sempre com boa qualidade. Mas, sinceramente, não ligo muito a Fames... para mim, graffiti é um movimento ilegal e assim o deve ser!
Qual é o teu top 3 de writers portugueses?
Na actualidade, são três amigos meus: Geks, Mulog e Mazar.
E de writers estrangeiros?
OsGemeos, Otis e Moses&Taps.
Com que writer gostavas de fazer uma peça conjunta?
Com os meus top 3.
Qual é aquela que consideras a tua melhor peça, aquela que te deu mais luta e aquela que ainda te falta fazer?
Para mim, a melhor peça é sempre a que foi feita em estilo Panel a cores num comboio. A que me deu mais luta foi aquela feita num comboio com algum tipo de contratempo. A que me falta fazer, apesar de ter praticamente todos os modelos de comboios Portugueses da minha época, é o Alfa Pendular (um Panel a cores).
Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Não estou tão activo como gostaria, mas queria continuar a fazer algumas peças até que me seja possível.
Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?
Uma fuga nos Ateliers Vaugirard Hangar do Metro de Paris foi o momento que mais adrenalina me deu desde que faço Graffiti. O resto da história fica para quem estava ao meu lado a correr na direcção do suga.

This member of SBF and FYA is a fan of bombing and trains and chooses Hern as the best painting and adventure partner.
Painting since 1999, he says that the reasons that keep him connected to the movement are his friends and the pleasure he gets from doing missions.
For those just starting out in the graff, his advice is to respect those who have been here for a while, to paint a lot, conscientiously, and to be true to what Graffiti really means (illegal painting and spreading the name as much as possible).
What does your tag mean? My tag comes from my previous tag Axis, which went through Eix and stabilized at Eiks or Eiqs, depending on the impact. When did your interest in graffiti begin and what were your influences at the time? My first brush tags were from 99 to 01, the year in which I started using Chinese tins and hair dye to make my first pieces. My influences at the beginning were my classmates... I had never even noticed graffiti on the street. Next, the Cascais Line was my influence! What was the graffiti scene like when you started? When I started (in 2001) the scene was very active and of high quality... evolution took a long time for those just starting out (nothing like nowadays with the internet and drawing programs). I lived in Parede (Linha de Cascais), an area where there were a lot of people painting constantly and with great quality... there were Jams in Oeiras where people could be seen very united by Culture, something that was gradually lost. In cans, we bought Montana in Baixa at a Levis store for €1.75, with the change that was for lunch. In 2004 we (my GBK crew and I) found, one afternoon, a Sintra Line train stopped for nothing at the famous Backjump “Buraco”, while we were painting walls on the line in Sete Rios, and then the whole game changed, eheh... when We were taking a train and we knew that on the following day or days there would be hours and hours of waiting at the Sete Rios or Benfica stations, to be able to take photos of the pieces with a disposable roller camera, but, in the end, it was always worth the wait! Good times!! In a word, how do you describe your style?

What are your crews? SBF and FYA. What are your favorite spots/cities? Terminal stations and backjumps / Lisbon. Wall of fame, street bombing or train bombing? Trains. What is your creative process like and where do you get inspiration for your pieces?
Honestly, my creative process is almost made of obligatory. If it's Fame I try to draw something the day before, if it's Bombing / trains I usually improvise or repeat a sketch.
What are the ingredients for a good painting session? Mission controlled, get in and out without spikes. Do you prefer silver or colors? Colors. Do you paint with sketch or freestyle? Sketch only in Fame. What plays on your playlist when you paint?
Hip hop.
How would you describe the current graffiti scene in Portugal? What can improve? As I'm more connected to Bombing/trains, that's what I pay more attention to. On the street I think it's a little weak compared to other times, apart from 4/5 brothers who are always there on the beat. On the Trains there is a lot of movement and a lot of quantity, but, at the moment, the quality is average, apart from the usual suspects... At Fame they are the same as always with good quality. But, honestly, I don't care much about Fames... for me, graffiti is an illegal movement and that's how it should be! What is your top 3 Portuguese writers? Currently, there are three friends of mine: Geks, Mulog e Mazar. In other times: Exas, Obey e Nius. And foreign writers? OsGemeos, Otis e Moses&Taps. Which writer would you like to do a joint piece with?

What do you consider to be your best piece, the one that gave you the most struggle and the one you still have left to do? For me, the best piece is always the one made in panel style in color on a train. The one that gave me the most struggle was the one done on a train with some kind of mishap. The one I have left to do, despite having practically all the Portuguese train models from my time, is the Alfa Pendular (a color panel). What are your future plans/projects? I'm not as active as I would like, but I would like to continue doing some pieces until I can. Do you have a story you want to share? An escape to the Ateliers Vaugirard Hangar of the Paris Metro was the most adrenaline-pumping moment I've had since I've been doing Graffiti. The rest of the story is for whoever was next to me running towards the sucker. Props? My Crews and my long-time friends at Graff, they will certainly know who they are!
