Quem já vai conhecendo o meu blog sabe que este projeto está aberto a todos os writers e artistas, sejam eles consagrados ou emergentes.
Apesar do seu interesse pelo graffiti já ter vários anos, só recentemente (e impulsionado por Tricky) é que Gcat resolveu aderir em força ao game.
São já várias as peças deste writer espalhadas pela Charneca da Caparica, Seixal ou Ginjal (um dos seus spots favoritos e onde costuma pintar com Sbem, Mano ou Brek).
Depois das suas obras foram os sketches do seu Instagram que me chamaram a atenção.
E agora trago-vos a sua entrevista. Espero que apreciem.
Qual é o significado do teu tag?
O tag Grumpy foi-me dado por uma pessoa especial também do game, por causa do conhecido gif do Grumpy cat. Tínhamos 4 gatos e estava sempre a dizer que eu estava com Grumpy face.
No início, assinava GRUMPY. Mas depois passei só a GCAT, por ser mais pequeno.
Tens formação em arte?
Não tenho. Apenas art da streeeeet, ahahah.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
O meu interesse começou quando era muito miúdo, mas nunca fiz nada de especial e depois afastei-me durante muitos anos, sem qualquer tipo de contacto.
A minha maior influência foi a Tricky, que me puxou novamente para o game.
Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?
Mesmo a sério e frequentemente, comecei há pouco tempo, em Setembro de 2020. Portanto, a cena era como é agora, muita competição da maneira errada. Ninguém vai tirar o lugar a ninguém, "oldshool é king" e "new school é the future school"!
Quais são as tuas crews?
Writers Bench Crew.
Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos?
Gosto muito dos spots abandonados da MS.
Wall of fame, Street bombing ou Train bombing?
Gosto de tudo, desde que haja tinta. Siga!
Como é o teu processo criativo e onde vais buscar as tuas inspirações?
Não tenho nenhum processo especial ou inspiração. Basicamente, quase sempre faço e sigo o meu style.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Umas vezes uso, outras não. Depende da piece, spot e style.
Preferes pintar sozinho ou em grupo?
Em grupo, alone é uma seca.
Com quem gostas de pintar?
VORM, SBEM, CALMO, FROZ, RETAS, BREK, SORZ.
Qual é a tua lata preferida?
Kobra, em relação ao preço-qualidade, hihihi.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
Moscow Death Brigade, Suicide Boys, etc.
Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal?
Imensa competition mas the wrong way.

Penso que o melhor seja o que fiz com o meu brother SBEM em 1st floor, também por ser a minha maior piece!

Acho que os meus planos mantêm-se em pintar muito mais!

Anyone who already gets to know my blog knows that this project is open to all writers and artists, whether they are established or emerging.
Despite his interest in graffiti for several years, it is only recently (and driven by Tricky) that Gcat decided to join the game in force.
There are already several pieces by this writer around Charneca da Caparica, Seixal or Ginjal (one of his favorite spots and where he usually paints with Sbem, Mano or Brek).
After his works, it was the sketches of his Instagram that caught my attention.

What is the meaning of your tag?
The grumpy tag was given me by a special person also of the game, because of the well-known gif of the grumpy cat. We had 4 cats and she was always saying that I had grumpy face.
In the beginning, I signed GRUMPY. But then I just passed to GCAT, because it was smaller.
Do you have an art background?
I do not have. Just art from the streeeeet, ahahah.
When did it start your interest in graffiti and who were your influences at the time?
My interest started when I was very young, but I never did anything special and then I leave it for many years without any kind of contact. My biggest influence was Tricky, who pulled me back into the game.
How was the graffiti scene like when you started?
Even seriously and often, I started not long ago, in September 2020. So the scene was as it is now, a lot of competition the wrong way. No one will take anyone's place, "oldshool is king" and "new school is the future school"!
What are your crews?
Bench Crew Writers.
What are your favorite spots / cities?
I really like the abandoned MS spots.

I like everything as long as there is ink. Let's go!
How is your creative process and where do you get your inspirations?
I don't have any special process or inspiration. Basically, I almost always do and follow my style.

Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't. It depends on the piece, spot and style.
Do you prefer to paint alone or in a group? In a group, alone is a drought.

Shon, Fisk, Chure.

What is your best work? I think the best is what I did with my brother SBEM on 1st floor, also because it's my biggest piece! What are your future plans / projects? I think my plans are still to paint a lot more! Do you have a story you want to share? Nope. Props? TRICKY for pulling me back into the game. CALMO for having been my link to you all WB.
