Com formação em Belas Artes, o espanhol Tr3scatorce tem deixado os retratos dos seus amigos na Wall of Fame das Amoreiras.
Também presente na Margem Sul, o artista prestou a sua homenagem ao grande "El Pibe" numa parede do Ginjal.
Sabendo que se encontra a residir em Lisboa, resolvi lançar-lhe o convite para uma entrevista. Aqui têm o seu testemunho.
Qual é o significado do teu tag?
São o 3 primeiros dígitos do número Pi. Sempre estive contra a perfeição e as coisas demasiado bem feitas, é como tirar a humanidade ou o sentido às coisas. Para mim, o número Pi representa isso, uma conta matemática sem fim que nos lembra que somos humanos, com falhas.
Tens formação em Arte?
Especializei-me em arte durante a escola e no ano passado, durante a pandemia, terminei o curso de Belas Artes na universidade. E, a seguir, vim para Lisboa.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti / street art?
Eu estava sempre a desenhar ou a pintar, mas aos 12 anos, como quase toda a gente, comecei a pintar graffiti com amigos. O graffiti deu-me uma grande liberdade, de passar do pintar no papel para onde eu quisesse. Essas mesmas amizades também foram as minhas influências. Os meus fins de semana resumiam-se a pintar graffiti e a preparar-me para quando a polícia aparecesse.
Como era a cena no graffiti / street art quando começaste?
Eu venho de uma cidade pequena pelo que (na cena) éramos os mesmos de sempre. Mas a verdade é que, apesar de sermos poucos, conseguimos destruir bastante a cidade, ahahaha.
Quais são as tuas crews?
Acho que prefiro não misturar a crew e o graffiti com o meu nome público de Tr3scatorce, para não me denunciar ou aos membros da minha crew.
Em quantos países já pintaste?
Poucos, na verdade. Espanha, Portugal e Itália. Infelizmente, viajei muito pouco durante a minha vida. Mas já me contactaram de outros países para lá ir pintar, ahaha.
Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos?
Lugares abandonados, sem dúvida. Gosto de vê-los como templos a que nós
(writers) fazemos peregrinações para pintar. Ou seja, é uma loucura. É como quando, na pré-história, os humanos iam às cavernas de difícil acesso somente para pintar. As pinturas rupestres e o graffiti têm muitas semelhanças, mais do que pensamos.
Wall of Fame, Street Bombing ou Train Bombing?
A verdade é que não há diferença para mim, eu pinto por necessidade. Se me disserem
para fazermos um bombing ou uma wall of fame, vamos a isso, se for um comboio é um comboio. O que eu gosto na pintura é de pintar, não sou como essas pessoas interesseiras que venderiam a sua irmã por um comboio.
Como é o teu processo criativo e onde vais buscar as tuas influências?
Por exemplo, com esta série de murais de amigos, faço com o que me lembro naquele
momento desse amigo. Enquanto que nos restantes murais eu gosto muito de ver imagens e definir tudo. Às vezes vejo uma tal imagem ou um objeto que têm algo que me diga e tenho que pintar isso, como se tivessem uma força dentro de si.
Não gosto de pensar nas coisas, gosto que venham de dentro, para serem mais verdadeiras.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Graffiti estilo livre. Para os murais eu vou com um sketch, para definir a forma do que estou a pintar.
Qual é a tua lata favorita?
Na verdade, não faz diferença, adapto-me a todos os sprays. Escolho as latas pela cor e
não pela marca.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
Sem dúvida, Reggaetonazo. E, de vez em quando, trap.
Preferes pintar sozinho ou em grupo?
Graffiti gosto de pintar sempre em grupo, é uma boa desculpa para socializar e estar com os meus amigos. Nos murais gosto mais de estar sozinho.
Qual é o significado da barra sobre os olhos dos teus retratos?
Quando estava na universidade estava sempre a fazer retratos a óleo. Lá dei-me conta de que os olhos e o olhar são o mais importante, marcam toda a personalidade da pessoa que estás a pintar. Eu queria destacar, de alguma maneira, essa coisa que havia encontrado do olhar nos meus retratos. E ocorreu-me colocar uma barra de outra cor para chamar a atenção.
É uma loucura mas juro-te que, em todos os murais que faço com retratos dos meus amigos, quando olho para os olhos é como se os estivesse a ver e eles estivessem ali comigo.
Qual é o teu melhor trabalho?
Acho que o retrato que fiz do meu amigo Ballano, mas espero que este seja o melhor por pouco tempo e que faça um superior em breve.
Como descreves o panorama actual do graffiti / street art em Espanha? Que diferenças encontras relativamente a Portugal?
Na Espanha toda a gente pinta com toda a gente, não há muito problema. Aqui em
Portugal tenho a perceção que o panorama é mais individual.
Quais são os teus três writers / artistas preferidos?
Ovis, Sway e Sino, a quem mando cumprimentos a partir daqui!
Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Viver disto e bem e ter cada vez mais oportunidades para poder criar projetos maiores e
dar rédea solta aos meus delírios.
Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?
Não saberia qual contar-te, o bom do graffiti é que sempre que pintas acontece algo para contar.

With a background in Fine Arts, Spanish Tr3scatorce has left the portraits of his friends on the Amoreiras Wall of Fame. On the South Bank, the artist paid his tribute to the great "El Pibe" on a wall in Ginjal.
Knowing that he is residing in Lisbon, I decided to invite him for an interview. Here's his testimony.
What is the meaning of your tag? These are the first 3 digits of the Pi number. I've always been against perfection and things too well done, it's like taking humanity or meaning out of things. To me, the number Pi represents this, an endless mathematical account that reminds us that we are human, flawed. Do you have an art background? I specialized in art during school and last year, during the pandemic, I finished the Fine Arts course at university. And then I came to Lisbon. When did your interest in graffiti / street art start? I was always drawing or painting, but at age 12, like almost everyone else, I started painting graffiti with friends. Graffiti gave me great freedom, to move from painting on paper to wherever I wanted. Those same friendships were also my influences. My weekends were all about painting graffiti and preparing for when the police showed up. What was the graffiti / street art scene like when you started? I come from a small town so (in the scene) we were the same as always. But the truth is that, despite being few, we managed to destroy the city a lot, ahahaha. What are your crews? I think I prefer not to mix the crew and graffiti with my public name Tr3scatorce, so as not to denounce myself or my crew members.
In how many countries have you painted?
Few, in fact. Spain, Portugal and Italy. Unfortunately, I traveled very little in my life. But they've already contacted me from other countries to go there and paint, ahaha.
What are your favorite spots / cities?
Abandoned places, no doubt. I like to see them as temples to which we (writers) make pilgrimages to paint. In other words, it's crazy. It's like when, in prehistory, humans went to caves that were difficult to access just to paint. Cave paintings and graffiti have a lot of similarities, more than we think.
Wall of Fame, Street Bombing or Train Bombing?
The truth is that there is no difference for me, I paint out of necessity. if they tell me to do a bombing or a wall of fame, let's do it, if it's a train, it's a train. What I like about painting is painting, I'm not like those self-serving people who would sell their sister for a train.
How is your creative process and where do you get your influences?
For example, with this series of murals of friends, I do what I remember in that moment of that friend. While in the other murals I really like to see images and define everything. Sometimes I see such an image or an object that has something to tell me and I have to paint it, as if they had a force inside them.
I don't like to think about things, I like them to come from within, to be truer.
Do you paint with sketch or freestyle?
Freestyle graffiti. For the murals I go with a sketch, to define the shape of what I'm painting.
What is your favorite can?
It doesn't really matter, I adapt to all sprays. I choose the cans by color and not by brand.
What plays on your playlist when you paint?
Without a doubt, Reggaetonazo. And, from time to time, trap.
Do you prefer to paint alone or in a group?
Graffiti I always like to paint in a group, it's a good excuse to socialize and to be with my friends. On the murals I like being alone better.
What is the meaning of the bar over the eyes of your portraits?
When I was at university, I was always doing oil portraits. There I realized that the eyes and the look are the most important, they mark the entire personality of the person you are painting. I wanted to highlight, in some way, this thing I had found from the look in my portraits. And it occurred to me to put a bar of another color to get attention.
It's crazy but I swear to you that, in all the murals I do with portraits of my friends, when I look into their eyes it's like I'm seeing them and they're there with me.
What is your best work?
I think the portrait I made of my friend Ballano, but I hope this one will be the best for a little while and that I will make a superior soon.
How would you describe the current panorama of graffiti / street art in Spain? What differences do you find in relation to Portugal?
In Spain everybody paints with everybody, there's not much problem. Here in Portugal, I have the perception that the panorama is more individual.
What are your three favorite writers/artists?
Ovis, Sway and Bell, to whom I send greetings from here!
What are your future plans / projects?
To live from this and to have more and more opportunities to be able to create bigger projects and give free rein to my delusions.
Do you have a story you want to share?
I wouldn't know which one to tell you, the good thing about graffiti is that whenever you paint something happens to tell.
