As entrevistas que tenho feito permitem-me ficar a conhecer um pouco mais sobre os writers e as suas crews e reservam-me, por vezes, algumas surpresas.
Depois de ter descoberto o Instagram de GODS, percebi que o meu entrevistado pertencia aos Arrabaça/4A (uma das crews de Raps).
Mas só com esta entrevista é que fiquei a saber da sua ligação ao Alentexas, como membro dos DMC.
O writer é também um dos intervenientes do projeto Spray Report, para o qual tem contribuído com algumas animações .
Bem dizia Spektor (dos Crazy Fuckers) que "Portugal é um sítio pequeno em que quase todos os writers se conhecem ou já se cruzaram".
Qual o significado do teu tag que é também o nome da tua marca?
O nome GODS surgiu quando estava a criar a marca e eu escolhi-o para representar todo o tipo de artistas que tentam fazer algo pela cultura e que tentam inovar.
Eu tive esta ideia em 2016 enquanto estava a estagiar. Nessa altura, fiz uns stickers para a malta e foi o meu bro Stenpie que me disse que devia meter isso numa tee, tanto que lhe mostrei um mockup, logo no dia seguinte, e ele curtiu da ideia. Entretanto, em 2020 fiz 50 t-shirts e foi essa experiência que me fez continuar com o projeto. Apercebi-me que o pessoal curtiu da cena, tanto que em menos de 24h vendi as tees todas.
Então, decidi que iria fazer uma coisa diferente, ir lançando modelos limitados sempre diferentes. Os antigos modelos só as pessoas que compraram é que vão ter, o objetivo é estar sempre a renovar com peças e ideias diferentes.
Neste momento, este projeto é um hobbie mas, quem sabe, talvez um dia possa ser o meu ganha pão.
Agora ando a tratar do próximo lançamento, que vai sair em breve.
Tens formação em arte?
Estive a estudar Animação 2D/3D, durante 5 anos, em Lisboa e acabei a licenciatura em Animação, este ano, no UK.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
Desde puto que tive interesse. Mas foi quando comecei a estudar em Lisboa, como andava sempre de comboio, que fiquei bastante interessado e tirava fotos a todos os graff e tags que curtia. Então, comecei a decorar nomes de crews e de pessoal (Redk, Reis, Pech, Medoz, Arus).
Foi um amigo meu que pinta que me influenciou a ir comprar as minhas primeiras latas.
Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?
Vou-te ser sincero, no início, eu nunca estive muito dentro da cultura do graff, fazia só a minha cena. Depois conheci um amigo meu que fazia parte de uma crew (que é NSK), comecei a ir pintar com eles e foi aí que comecei a perceber como é que funcionavam as coisas.
Quais são as tuas crews?
Arrabaça/4A e DMC from Alentexas.
Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos?
Estação da Cruz Quebrada (é legal pintar 😎) e Convento em Caxias. E como melhor cidades, Lisboa e Wrocław.
Wall of fame, Street bombing ou Train bombing?
Street bombing.
Como é o teu processo criativo e onde vais buscar as tuas inspirações?
Basicamente, eu vou buscar as minhas inspirações a desenhos animados antigos que via quando era puto e também muita banda desenhada que, atualmente, ainda compro e leio.
Quando vou fazer algo tento fazer mood board com as ideias que tenho e cores que quero meter.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Com sketch.
Preferes pintar sozinho ou em grupo?
Em grupo.
Com quem gostas de pintar?
Curto muito de pintar com o Raps, ganda vibe, tudo muito traquilo. Também curto muito de pintar com o pessoal da DMC, que é só rir com eles.
Qual é a tua lata preferida?
Montana Nitro 2G 500ml.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
Depende do dia, mas tento sempre meter um old-school hip hop. Por isso, vai tocar B.I.G, MFDOOM, Wu Tang Clan. Neste último graff que fiz, esteve a tocar em loop a Mixtape De Rajada hosted by DJ Algore
Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal?
Eu não sou ninguém para falar do panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal, mas sei que existem crews e pessoal que percebem bem o que significa o graffiti e ajudam bastante para a cultura do graff não morrer. Porque o graff é suposto ser ilegal e sujo, é Puro Vandalismo.
Qual é o teu top 3 de writers portugueses?
E de writers estrangeiros?
Qual é o teu melhor trabalho?
O meu melhor trabalho acho que foi o último que fiz (o Hellboy). Foi o que me me deu mais trabalho e nunca tinha feito nada numa dimensão tão grande.
Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Neste momento, quero continuar a pintar para melhorar, continuar a lançar peças da marca e, futuramente, quero tentar fazer uma exposição.
Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?
Acho que não, bro.

The interviews I've been doing allow me to get to know a little more about the writers and their crews and sometimes reserve me some surprises.
After discovering GODS' Instagram, I realized that my interviewee belonged to Arrabaça/4A (one of the Raps crews).
But it was only with this interview that I learned of his connection to Alentexas, as a member of the DMC.
The writer is also one of the players in the Spray Report project, to which he has contributed with some animations.
Spektor (from Crazy Fuckers) said that "Portugal is a small place where almost all writers know each other or have crossed paths."
What is the meaning of your tag that is also your brand name?
The name GODS came when I was creating the brand and I chose it to represent all kinds of artists trying to do something for the culture and trying to innovate.
I had this idea in 2016 while I was an intern. At that time, I made some stickers for the guys and it was my bro Stenpie who told me I should put this on a tee, so much so that I showed him a mockup, the very next day, and he liked the idea. In 2020 I made 50 t-shirts and it was this experience that made me continue with the project. I realized that people enjoyed the scene so much so that in less than 24 hours I sold all the tees.
So, I decided that I would do something different, launching limited models that are always different. Only the people who bought the old models will have them, the goal is to always renovate with different parts and ideas.
Right now, this project is a hobby, but who knows, maybe one day it could be my bread and butter.
Now I'm dealing with the next release, which will come out soon.
Do you have an art background?
I studied 2D/3D Animation for 5 years in Lisbon and finished my degree in Animation this year in the UK.
When did it start your interest in graffiti and what were your influences at the time?
I've been interested since kid. But it was when I started studying in Lisbon, as I was always on the train, that I became very interested and took pictures of all the graffs and tags I liked. So, I started memorizing crew and personnel names (Redk, Reis, Pech, Medoz, Arus).
It was a friend of mine who paints who influenced me to go buy my first cans.
What was the graffiti scene like when you started?
I'll be honest with you, at the beginning, I never had much in the graff culture, I was just doing my scene. Then I met a friend of mine who was part of a crew (which is NSK), I started going to paint with them and that's when I started to understand how things worked.
What are your crews?
Arrabaça/4A and DMC from Aletexas.
What are your favorite spots / cities?
Cruz Quebrada Station (it's legal to paint 😎) and Convent in Caxias. And like best cities, Lisbon and Wrocław.

Street bombing.
How is your creative process and where do you get your inspirations?
Basically, I get my inspirations from old cartoons that I saw when I was a kid and also a lot of comics that, nowadays, I still buy and read.
When I go to do something I try to make a mood board with the ideas I have and the colors I want to get.
Do you paint with sketch or freestyle?
With sketch.
Do you prefer to paint alone or in a group?
In Group.
Who do you like to paint with?
I really enjoy painting with Raps, ganda vibe, everything is very peaceful. I also really enjoy painting with the people at DMC, who just laugh with them.
What is your favorite can?
Montana Nitro 2G 500ml.
What plays on your playlist when you paint?
It depends on the day, but I always try to get old-school hip hop. Therefore, he will play B.I.G, MFDOOM, Wu Tang Clan. In this last graff I made, Mixtape De Rajada hosted by DJ Algore played in a loop
How would you describe the current panorama of graffiti in Portugal?
I'm no one to talk about the current panorama of graffiti in Portugal, but I know that there are crews and people who understand very well what graffiti means and help a lot so that the graff culture doesn't die. Because graff is supposed to be illegal and dirty, it's Pure Vandalism.
What is your top 3 Portuguese writers?
And foreign writers?
What is your best work?
My best work I think was the last one I did (Hellboy). It was what gave me the most work and I had never done anything on such a large scale.
What are your future plans / projects?
Right now, I want to keep painting to improve, keep launching the brand's pieces and, in the future, I want to try to make an exhibition.

I don't think so, bro.
