Apesar de pintar há cerca de 20 anos, só recentemente é que comecei a encontrar peças do meu novo entrevistado.
Oder esteve sempre mais ligado a Lisboa e à linha de Sintra até se ter mudado para a Margem Sul.
No seu percurso, esteve um tempo fora de Portugal e, durante uns bons anos, deixou de pintar e de ter material na rua.
A mudança tem sido proveitosa uma vez que são já várias as peças que pintou pelo concelho de Almada.
Quando questionado acerca da sua ligação ao movimento depois de tantos anos, o writer foi perentório na resposta: "Acima de tudo está o facto de que adoro desenhar, se não for na parede é na tela, se não é na tela é digital, gosto de ter bastantes suportes e isso faz com que queira experimentar sempre cenas e letterings ou bonecos, retratos, whatever... aliado ao facto de me juntar com velhos amigos para pintar e conhecer sempre pessoas novas. O graff e o movimento Hip-Hop é algo que irá estar sempre presente no meu modo de vida".
Qual o significado do teu tag? No início, comecei por pintar Other, já há uns bons anos. Mas descobri, nessa altura, um writer dos E.U.A. que tinha o mesmo nome (sendo que antes dava-se muita importância ao não copiar tags e havia muita pesquisa). Decidi, então, encurtar o tag. E assim ficou.
Tens formação em arte? Sim, fiz vários cursos dentro do tema das artes gráficas.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura? O meu interesse começou durante o 5° e 6° anos, no início dos anos 2000, com uma jam que fizeram na Seomara, uma escola na Amadora mesmo ao lado da minha. Todos os dias passava por lá e perdia-me a ver os muros repletos de bonecos e cores. Sempre tive gosto por desenhar e lembro-me de nessa altura começar a estar mais atento às paredes e de tentar desenhar no papel o que via. Após dois anos, quando entrei para o liceu, comecei a andar de skate e a estar mais dentro da cultura do Hip-Hop, conhecendo mais pessoal também ligado ao graffiti e foi uma cena que foi surgindo. Quanto às influências na altura, CWK (uma crew de Queluz) foi, sem dúvida, uma das que mais me influenciou, pois sendo da zona onde cresci foram das primeiras cenas que via diariamente.
Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?
Na altura, era muito a cena de rua, estava muito ligado à cultura do Hip-Hop e do skate, era a essência do graff (respeitava-se muito a cena de não copiar o tag ou o estilo, não crossar), havia muita competição entre crews, zonas e writers, quem pintava onde, os yards, os spots... dava-se muita importância às peças, ao skill... era um pouco diferente dos dias de hoje.
Quais são as tuas crews? MLK, ADR, TDS.
Já pintaste em quantos países? Já tive a oportunidade de deixar a marca em 5 países: Portugal, Espanha, França, Marrocos e Estados Unidos.
Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos? Creio que existem imensos sítios super interessantes por todo o lado, tanto do graff de rua como de street art, mas as cidades mais interessantes a que fui e em que fiquei impressionado talvez sejam Bordéus, Barcelona, San Francisco e Los Angeles. Desde o graff puro de vandalismo até ao street art, são super diversificadas, com espaço para todos, respeito e mesmo muita tinta.
Preferes wall of fame, street bombing ou train bombing? Não consigo eleger uma. Hoje em dia pinto em spots descontraídos já não fazendo muitas aventuras, mas como amante de graff gosto de ver peças em todo o lado, de todas as formas e feitios.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle? Ambos. Como classificas o teu estilo? Não sei, na verdade.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas? Hip-Hop, com certeza. O quê concretamente depende do dia, da peça e da adrenalina do spot.
Também tens interesse por música. É algo a desenvolver?
É algo que acompanha o meu trajeto no graffiti, um puxou-me para o outro. Hoje em dia faço uns instrumentais, umas brincadeiras com os amigos, mas são tudo cenas mais pessoais.
Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal? Muito diversificado, com muitos bons writers (sejam eles de rua ou street art) e com muita gente nas sombras a pintar muito.
Qual é o teu top 3 de writers portugueses?
Apenas três é dificil, mas Policromia (uma crew old school do Algarve), Ram e Nark são alguns deles.
E de writers estrangeiros? Toda a crew da Maclain, Love Letters (também crew), Cantwo e Belin.
Com que writer gostarias de fazer uma peça conjunta?
Não tenho uma pessoa em concreto, isso vai muito do feeling.
Qual é aquela peça que te falta fazer (pela complexidade, tamanho, local, …)? Gostaria de pintar uma fachada de um prédio ou algo dessa escala, pelo desafio... Mas, de resto, todas as peças são um desafio e o melhor é até o pessoal que se encontra pelo meio e as amizades que se fazem em torno do graffiti e não a peça em si.
Tens alguma história que queiras partilhar?
Muitas aventuras, mas vou deixar para depois.
Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Continuar a pintar, sem dúvida.

Despite painting for about 20 years, it's only recently that I started to find pieces of my new interviewee. Oder was more connected to Lisbon and the Sintra line until he moved to the South Bank. Along the way, he spent some time outside Portugal and, for a good few years, stopped painting and having material on the street. The change has been fruitful as he has already painted several pieces in the municipality of Almada. When questioned about his connection to the movement after so many years, the writer was peremptory in his response: "Above all is the fact that I love to draw, if it's not on the wall then on canvas, if it's not on canvas it's digital, I like having enough supports and that makes me always want to try scenes and letterings or dolls, portraits, whatever... combined with the fact that I get together with old friends to paint and always meet new people. The graff and the Hip-Hop movement is something that will always be present in my way of life".
What does your tag mean?
In the beginning, I started painting Other, a good few years ago. But I discovered, at that time, a writer from the USA. which had the same name (before, a lot of importance was given to not copying tags and there was a lot of research). So I decided to shorten the tag. And so it stayed.
Do you have art training?
Yes, I took several courses within the theme of graphic arts.
When did your interest in graffiti start and what were your influences at the time?
My interest started during the 5th and 6th years, in the early 2000s, with a jam they played at Seomara, a school in Amadora right next to mine. Every day I passed by there and lost myself looking at the walls full of dolls and colors. I always had a taste for drawing and I remember at that time starting to pay more attention to the walls and trying to draw what I saw on paper.
After two years, when I started high school, I started skating and being more in the Hip-Hop culture, meeting more people also connected to graffiti and it was a scene that emerged.
As for influences at the time, CWK (a crew from Queluz) was undoubtedly one of the ones that most influenced me, as being from the area where I grew up they were one of the first scenes I saw on a daily basis.
What was the graffiti scene like when you started?
At the time, it was very much the street scene, it was very connected to Hip-Hop and skateboarding culture, it was the essence of graff (there was a lot of respect for the scene of not copying the tag or the style, not crossing), there was a lot of competition between crews, zona and writers, who painted where, the yards, the spots... a lot of importance was given to the pieces, to the skill... it was a little different from today.

In how many countries have you painted?
I already had the opportunity to leave the mark in 5 countries: Portugal, Spain, France, Morocco and the United States.
What are your favorite spots / cities?
I think there are a lot of super interesting places everywhere, both street graff and street art, but the most interesting cities I went to and where I was impressed are maybe Bordeaux, Barcelona, San Francisco and Los Angeles. From pure vandalism graff to street art, they are super diverse, with space for everyone, respect and even lots of paint.
Do you prefer wall of fame, street bombing or train bombing?
I can't choose one. Nowadays I paint in relaxed spots, not doing many adventures anymore, but as a graff lover I like to see pieces everywhere, in all shapes and sizes.
Do you paint with sketch or freestyle?
Both.
How do you rate your style?
I don't know, actually.
What plays on your playlist when you paint?
Hip-Hop for sure. What concretely depends on the day, the piece and the adrenaline of the spot.
You are also interested in music. Is it something to develop?
It's something that accompanies my journey in graffiti, one pulled me towards the other. Nowadays I do some instrumentals, some games with friends, but they are all more personal scenes.
How would you describe the current scenario of graffiti in Portugal?
Very diversified, with very good writers (whether street or street art) and a lot of people in the shadows painting a lot.
What is your top 3 of Portuguese writers?
Just three is difficult, but Policromia (an old school crew from the Algarve), Ram and Nark are some of them.
What about foreign writers?
The entire Maclain crew, Love Letters (also crew), Cantwo and Belin.
Which writer would you like to do a joint piece with?
I don't have a specific person, that depends a lot on feeling.
What is that piece you still need to make (by complexity, size, location, …)?
I would like to paint a facade of a building or something on that scale, for the challenge... But, besides, all the pieces are a challenge and the best thing is even the people you meet in the middle and the friendships that are formed around the graffiti and not the piece itself.
Do you have a story you want to share?
Many adventures, but I'll leave it for later.

Continue painting, no doubt.
