Acho que a primeira obra que vi de Amor foi na Wall of Fame das Amoreiras, um dos spots preferidos do writer.
Mais tarde, encontrei outras das suas peças em alguns abandonados de Sintra e na renomada Wall of Fame de Carcavelos, na qual são recorrentes as suas sessões com Youth ou Utopia.
Sempre à procura de ligar os graffitis aos seus autores, conheci-o, recentemente, quando participou numa jam em Almada.
Dias mais tarde, voltámos a cruzar-nos num spot na Margem Sul e no abandonado do momento. Entre pinturas e cervejas, convidei-o para uma entrevista.
Depois de um 2020 para esquecer, precisamos de mais Amor.
Qual o significado do teu tag?
O meu tag kurtz veio de gostar de Nirvana. Venho dos anos 80 e nos 90 foi o boom do grunge e de Kurt Cobain, daí o tag kurtz.
E a seguir, estive uns anos fora e comecei a pintar amor também. Mas sempre com caveiras, explosões e conteúdos satíricos ao amor.
Quais são as tuas crews?
No sense crew (Nsc), com Youth, mais pela brincadeira e irmandade que temos.
Cazota, amizade de infância, mas mais ligada à música.
Quais são os teus spots / cidades preferidos?
Spots e cidades, epá existem vários sítios. Bernard Shaw (um pub no centro de Dublin), Paris (mas não duram muito tempo os graffs), Barcelona, Rennes em França (bons writers e boas pessoas), Lisboa (Amoreiras), Carcavelos e muitos mais. Mas o importante é haver uma parede e a amizade e o gosto por pintar.
Tens formação em arte?
Não. Mas sempre gostei de desenhar, fazia muitos characters.
Mas as letras são algo em que não é fácil criar uma identidade, daí o gosto de fazer letras, criar a minha identidade e evoluí-la.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
Comecei a pintar em 95. Não existia net e as influências vinham da rua, de writers como Youthone, Exas, Obey, Cab e mais alguns.
Como era a cena no graffiti quando começaste?
Penso que por não existir a net era tudo muito mais real, mais vivido. Sempre à procura do spot mais quente e de ver o train a rolar. No início, o bombing estava muito presente.
Wall of fame, Street bombing ou Train bombing?
Agora, é o fame. Já tive a minha fase, nos 90's e 2000, onde fazia de tudo um pouco.
Às vezes, ainda gosto de correr um bocado o risco, mas, neste momento, acho que gosto mais daquele dia bem passado e tranquilo com amigos a pintar e uma churrascada e cervejas pelo caminho.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
É relativo. Tão depressa tenho um sketch que quero mesmo fazer como a maior parte das vezes é freestyle, porque simplesmente as ideias vão surgindo.
Com quem gostas de pintar?
As minhas Crews. E amigos como: youthoner, eky, marcamix, oner, styler, utopia, acer, babs, tresdos, berns, miúdo, nomen, joker, ephan, dokir, koer e, recentemente, raps, cab, mito e por aí. Deixei ainda muitos de fora.
Como descreves o panorama atual do graffiti em Portugal?
Já senti mais união. Mas temos muitos bons writers e muitos ainda são reais.
Qual é o teu top 3 de writers portugueses?
São imensos os que gosto. Mas pronto, os primeiros que me vêm à cabeça,
E de writers estrangeiros?
Epá, é difícil. Mas, pela criatividade e estilo, bond truelove, tasso, ceser, does, babs, etam crew.
Qual é a tua melhor peça?
Epá, não sei. Gosto de algumas pinturas que fiz e alguns projetos de que fiz parte. Mas o melhor ainda estará para vir.
Quais são os teus planos / projetos futuros?
Não penso muito para a frente, foco-me muito no presente. Mas tenho aí um projeto com alguns artistas que pode ser que vá para a frente. Mas ainda está tudo muito em segredo.

I think the first work I saw by Amor was on the Amoreiras Wall of Fame, one of the writer's favorite spots.
Later, I found other of his pieces in some abandoned buildings in Sintra and in the renowned Wall of Fame in Carcavelos, where his sessions with Youth or Utopia are recurrent. Always looking to connect graffiti to its authors, I met him recently when he participated in a jam in Almada.
Days later, we crossed paths again at a spot on the South Bank that was abandoned at the time. Between paintings and beers, I invited him for an interview.
After a 2020 to forget, we need more Love.
What does your tag mean?
My tag kurtz came from liking Nirvana. I come from the 80s and the 90s was the boom of grunge and Kurt Cobain, hence the kurtz tag. And then, I was away for a few years and started painting love too. But always with skulls, explosions and satirical content about love.
What are your crews?
One major clique (1mc), crew created by me, Marcamix and Oner, in Dublin. In the sense crew (Nsc), with Youth, more because of the fun and brotherhood we have. Cazota, childhood friendship, but more linked to music.
What are your favorite spots/cities?
Spots and cities, hey there are several places. Bernard Shaw (a pub in the center of Dublin), Paris (but graffs don't last long), Barcelona, Rennes in France (good writers and good people), Lisbon (Amoreiras), Carcavelos and many more. But the important thing is to have a wall and friendship and a love of painting.
Do you have training in art?
No. But I always liked drawing, I made a lot of characters. But lyrics are something in which it is not easy to create an identity, hence the pleasure of writing lyrics, creating my identity and evolving it.
When did your interest in graffiti begin and what were your influences at the time?
I started painting in 95. There was no internet and the influences came from the street, from writers like Youthone, Exas, Obey, Cab and a few others.
What was the graffiti scene like when you started?
I think that because the internet didn't exist, everything was much more real, more lived-in. Always looking for the hottest spot and to watch the train roll by. In the beginning, bombing was very present.
Wall of fame, Street bombing or Train bombing?
Now, it's fame. I already had my phase, in the 90's and 2000, where I did a bit of everything. Sometimes, I still like to take a bit of a risk, but at this moment, I think I enjoy more that day spent well spent and relaxed with friends painting and a barbecue and beers along the way.
Do you paint with sketch or freestyle?
It's relative. I quickly have a sketch that I really want to do, as most of the time it's freestyle, because the ideas just keep coming.
Who do you like to paint with?
My Crews. And friends like: youthoner, eky, marcamix, oner, styler, utopia, acer, babs, tresdos, berns, miúdo, nomen, joker, ephan, dokir, koer e, recentemente, raps, cab, mito and so on. I still left many out.
How would you describe the current graffiti scene in Portugal? I already felt more unity. But we have a lot of good writers and many are still real. What is your top 3 Portuguese writers? There are a lot of ones I like. But that's it, the first ones that come to mind, Odeith, Styler, Youth.
And foreign writers?
Hey, it's difficult. But, for creativity and style, bond truelove, tasso, ceser, does, babs, etam crew.
What is your best piece? Hey, I don't know. I like some paintings I did and some projects I was part of. But the best is yet to come. What are your future plans/projects? I don't think too far ahead, I focus a lot on the present. But I have a project with some artists that may go ahead. But everything is still very much a secret. Props? Props, mmmm...
