Draner vive o espírito do HIP HOP nas suas diversas vertentes.
Foi no Instagram que descobri o talento deste francês a residir na Margem Sul. Com um traço marcadamente oldschool, os seus sketches apresentavam semelhanças com as peças de Pluz ou Reckan.
Quando nos conhecemos pessoalmente, Draner falou-me do seu percurso no movimento e do seu gosto pelo Hip Hop, enquanto iamos folheando os seus blackbooks e material em arquivo.
Por ser um fã do estilo dos seus characters, convidei-o para ser o autor do logótipo da minha página, por altura do lançamento da 50ª entrevista.
O writer já participou em duas jams organizadas por Magus, onde foi possível observar a sua mestria e rapidez na execução de duas peças, nas quais juntou lettering e characters. Que venham muitas mais!
Qual é o significado do teu tag?
Significa RAPOSA em francês.
Tens formação em arte?
Eu desenho desde criança, o meu pai desenhava. Acho que herdei isso dele. Mas eu nunca estive numa escola de arte.
Quando começou o teu interesse pelo graffiti e quais foram as tuas influências na altura?
Descobri o graffiti quando, em criança, apanhava o comboio nas férias. Fiquei fascinado, mas só aprendi um pouco mais quando descobri o movimento HIP HOP, quando tinha 11 ou 12 anos (1992-1993).
Fui influenciado pelas letras prateadas e pretas que via ao longo da linha férrea. O estilo francês do início dos anos 90.
Também exploraste outras vertentes do hip hop (djing e break dancing, se não me engano). Qual delas te atrai mais?
Para mim, graffiti, bboying, turntablism e rap são apenas uma coisa (acho que tenho aquela visão old school do HIP HOP). Eu gosto e pratico-os a todos.
Já pintaste em quantos países?
Não muitos, eu não pinto muito. Gosto mais de esboçar. França, Portugal e alguns outros países da Europa onde eu costumava ir aos eventos de bboy, há alguns anos atrás.
O que achas do nível do(a) graffiti / street art do nosso país? Não sou ninguém para julgar o nível, mas posso ver que há uma boa dinâmica, energia, muito vandalismo em todas as cidades.
Quais são as principais diferenças que encontras em relação à França? Não sei responder, desculpa, não sou observador de graffiti o suficiente para comparar! Acho que a principal diferença é a quantidade de writers, porque Portugal é menor que a França. Na rua, quais são os teus lugares favoritos para pintar? Não gosto de vandalismo, por isso não pinto nas ruas, gosto de pintar em locais abandonados ou muros legais. Aí eu posso levar o meu tempo, ouvir música, relaxar...
És fã do wildstyle e do old school. Já experimentaste outros estilos? Na verdade não, só faço o que gosto. E eu tenho gostos muito específicos, considero o graffiti apenas pelo ângulo do HIP HOP, não vou noutra direção.
Preferes lettering ou characters?
Ambos... talvez eu prefira letras, mas criar letras com um estilo original é um trabalho para a vida inteira. Um trabalho sem fim.
Pintas com sketch ou freestyle?
Depende, às vezes eu desenho, às vezes eu faço freestyle. Outras vezes eu desenho mas acabo em freestylin.
O que toca na tua playlist quando pintas?
Rap americano dos anos 90, definitivamente.
Qual é o teu top 3 de writers / artistas portugueses?
E de writers / artistas estrangeiros?
Com que outro writer / artista gostarias de trabalhar?
Ninguém em especial, para mim desenhar ou pintar não é um trabalho, então qualquer pessoa com uma boa vibração!
De vez em quando lanças alguns sketches de mc's, dj's, … Tens mais planeados?
Não, na realidade eu não planeio nada!
Quais são os teus planos/projetos futuros?
Passar mais tempo a desenhar e a pintar e a descobrir novos lugares aqui em Portugal.
Já participaste em algumas jams aqui em Portugal. O que achaste? Foi agradável pintar lá. Obrigado ao MAGUS pela organização.

Draner lives the spirit of HIP HOP in its various forms. It was on Instagram that I discovered the talent of this Frenchman residing on the South Bank. With a markedly oldschool streak, his sketches were similar to pieces by Pluz or Reckan.
When we met in person, Draner told me about his journey in the movement and his taste for Hip Hop, as we browsed through his blackbooks and archive material.
As a fan of the style of his characters, I invited him to be the author of the logo for my page, at the time of the launch of the 50th interview. The writer has already participated in two jams organized by Magus, where it was possible to observe his mastery and speed in the execution of two pieces, in which he combined lettering and characters. Here's to many more!
What is the meaning of your tag?
Means FOX in French.
Do you have art training?
I draw since i was a lil kid, my father used to draw. I guess I heritate it from him. But i never did art school.
When did your interest in graffiti begin and what were your influences at the time?
I discovered graffiti when i took the train for vacation as a kid. I was fascinated, but i only learned a little more when I discovered the HIP HOP movement when I was 11 or 12 (1992-1993).
I was influenced by the silver and black letters that i saw along the railway. The early 90s french style.
You have also explored other aspects of hip hop (djing and break dancing, if I'm not mistaken)? Which one attracts you the most?
For me graffiti, bboying, turntablism and rap is only one thing (i guess i have that old school vision of HIP HOP). I like and practise them all.
In how many countries have you painted?
Not many, I dont paint that much. I'm more into sketching. France, Portugal and few others countries in Europe wheren i used to move to bboy events, some years ago.
What do you think about the level of graffiti / street art in our country?
I'm no one to judge the level but i can see that there is a good dynamic, energy, lots of vandal all around the cities.
What are the main differences you find compared to France?
I can't answer sorry, I'm not enough a graffiti observer to compare! I guess the main difference is the quantity of writers, because Portugal is smaller than France.
On the street, what are your favorite places to paint?
I'm not into vandalism, so i dont paint in the streets, I like to paint in abandonned places or legal walls. So i can take my time, listening to music, chill...
You're a wildstyle and old school fan. Have you tried other styles?
Not really, i only do what i like. And i have very specific tastes, i consider graffiti only from the HIP HOP angle, i won’t go in other direction.
Do you prefer letters or characters?
Both, ...maybe i prefer letters but it's a whole life work to create original style letters. Endless work.
Do you sketch or do it freestyle?
It depends, sometimes I draw, sometimes I freestyle. Other times I draw but end up freestyling.
What plays on your playlist when you paint?
90s US rap, definitely.
What is your top 3 of Portuguese writers / artists?
I would say CHURE and BUGSTER for the letters, AYER for the characters and VILE and ODEITH for the artwork.
What about foreign writers / artists?
Which other writer / artist would you like to work with?
No one in special, for me sketching or painting is not a work so any people with a good vibe!
Every now and then you throw some sketches of mc's, dj's, … Do you have more to come?
No, i don’t really plan anything !
What are your future plans / projects?
Spending more time sketching and painting, and discovering new spots here in portugal
